Why Does God Ask For Praise?

The Bible asserts frequently that we ought to praise God.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”
— Psalm 100:4

God is not a narcissist, demanding adoration where it is undue. He is a loving father, and all of His commands are for your benefit. The same is true regarding His call for ceaseless praise.

When you sincerely thank God and tell Him what you admire about Him, joy arises in the heart. Enthusiasm for God spills out of the heart and delivers energy and strength to the body.

Percieveth I this thought arise in you: “But there’s so much going wrong in my life, and God is allowing it!” Grievances, your complaints against God, are blocking this blessing from entering your prayer life.

Complaining Leads To Suffering, Which Is Death

“Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.”
— Numbers 11:1
