Three ways to silence fear and hear the voice of love
1. Replace Your Thoughts With God’s Voice By Reading Scripture
The Bible says mankind was made in the image of God, who speaks reality into being. What are you speaking into being? If you’re life is anything other than heavenly perfection, you are probably being dragged down by false, self-harming, or simply undisciplined and wandering thoughts.
Scripture offers an arsenal of healing thoughts. When the voice of fear tries to crucify you, talk back. For example, if the thought arises “I don’t deserve happiness,” spit the following sword at it:
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
Start by finding one or two verses that uplift and orient you, and memorize them, or put them on a notecard somewhere you’ll see every morning.
2. Ask God Directly (Pray) For Help
When Jesus said “it is finished”, what exactly did he accomplish? The curtain in the old temple which hid God’s presence from the rest of the world was torn apart, and God’s new temple became all of us.
