Don’t Just Read The Bible — Eat It

In this world, food becomes fuel and flesh — but only if it undergoes the right process of digestion. Reading is the same, but with words instead of bread.

“Just reading” is good for something like a news headline which is designed to convey few and specific things. A celebrity has died, a new president has arrived. Those words don’t need to be analyzed to be understood.

The Bible, on the other hand, is not a collection of news headlines. It’s not trying to describe the world — it’s trying to pour a spirit into it.

Here I’ll give a few verses supporting the idea that the Bible is meant to be treated like food, and then I’ll explain how to digest it with your mind.

Remember, the food of this world only satisfies for a little while. The Word of God promises to satisfy forever.
