Very cool poem! I like the idea that "magic" is real in the sense that it is just our psychology, our symbolic side of mind at work. Like reading palms, you might come to the session with "knowledge" about palm reading, but for the most part the seer can make wise-sounding statements about the lines and pick up on that person's signals and tell them what they need/want to hear. And I'm not bashing it, I think it's a cool skill I wish I had. I think it can do good.
