The Treasure Chest

A poem about intention

At first it was a treasure chest
Heavy wood and solid iron
With a lock no thief could pick

First I kicked it, to no avail
Then I bashed it with my staff
Cast a spell to melt it
But it backfired,
And the wood became steel

I even considered
Throwing it off the mountain
But it refused to lift

Having thoroughly attempted hate
I considered loving it
And at once it blossomed open!

Thanks for taking the time to read one of my poems! Here’s a couple more for you to enjoy:
