Religion vs. No Religion Is A False Dichotomy

A lot of people are raised into particular belief systems. Where I live, that tends to be some brand of Christianity. Some people resonate with it and stay that way. The ones who’ve had bad experiences with the church or with their understanding (guilt) learn to hate it.

They leave. They cut out everything related to the belief system that has failed them, and a lot of times, they replace it with nothing. They get on with their practical lives, not knowing that they’ve forgotten how to see things as miracles.

The valuable thing about religions is that they promote the idea of internal work. Of developing your character, monitoring your reactions and emotions, and editing them to be helpful towards your goals.

In the organized religion, a tradition dictates your goals. But a spiritual person decides their own.

How Do You Want To Experience Life?

How do you want to feel? How do you want to think? Most people who forsake religion tend to absorb their secular culture, not knowing there’s just as many problems there too.
