“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7

Your thoughts are the words you speak over your life. Like magic spells, these thoughts can deliver you into disaster or joy.

A thought like “I will write today” is like sunlight, showing you the way forward. Thinking “I hate this” over and over is like a dark cloud, preventing you from seeing paths to joy.

Therefore, a new thought I offer you: “I Rest In God.”

This phrase is lesson 109 from a book known as A Course In Miracles, which claims to be an extension of Jesus’ teachings.

“I rest in God.” This thought will bring to you the rest and quiet, peace and stillness, and the safety and the happiness you seek.
— A Course In Miracles, Lesson 109

In all circumstances, even if you are crucified and dying on the physical plane, you still have the authority to command your mind to remember peace.

And from your peace, new thoughts will spring, therefore new behaviors, therefore more beautiful and loving forms will appear in your life.

God’s work was finished a long time ago, and he offers you a share in his sabbath rest, if you would only choose to partake. One way to do that now is merely to consider the thought: “I Rest In God.”
