How to Procrastinate Well
A short guide, probably for later.
Procrastination is normally seen as a bad thing, and in most cases, I agree.
But it’s a long, difficult, and slow process to change oneself — if it’s even possible.
In the mean time, here are a few tips on how to make the best of your tendency to procrastinate — and towards the end I’ll explain why I think procrastination might secretly be a superpower.
Get a Little Task Done By Avoiding the Big One
Look at your to-do list. I’m sure there’s at least one big hairy task that you just would hate to start right now — you’re not in the mood at all!
What can save you from it?
The dishes. The dishes always need to get done. I know you’ve been avoiding them.
Guiltlessly avoid your big task by working on something less intimidating, like the dishes. The comparison with the big task makes the small one seem like a relief instead of a chore.
Refresh Your Brain with a Shower or Nap
Sometimes, I’ll take 3 different showers in one day. Not because I like to be super clean, but because I like to just stand there and recharge.
