What Are Emotions?

Emotions are communications from the subconscious, the heart. Their purpose is to help your mind learn to love and enjoy life, and to learn to share that joy with others.

When you hear “emotions are always valid,” it can be unsettling. What if you’re enraged, and you feel like it’s time for violent punishment?

This is a misunderstanding. Emotions are within, and their commentary is never about the world. And although you may have feelings associated with the past and future, those feelings are never about the past or future.

Emotions are always communicating about you in the present moment — how you are currently perceiving, what you are currently doing, and whether or not those things harmonize with inner law.

They never imply worldly actions — only the mind cares about those— emotions simply communicate when it’s time for a change of mind, a change of perception.
