Deep! But what about purposefully oversimplifying a system in order to predict it most of the time? Engineering does that a lot. They recognize a lot of "too uncertain" things, but work around that by asserting helpful assumptions before working through a problem. Then, I guess, they inductively see if their hypotheses held correct. So is knowledge impossible, or is pragmatism sufficient?
